Molt-X now ORMI listed

BioWorks Inc., Victor, N.Y., has announced that the company's EPA-registered Molt-X Botanical Insecticide/Nematicide is now listed by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) for use in organic production. While Molt-X works primarily as an insect growth regulator that disrupts the molting process in insects, it also acts as an insect repellent, antifeedant and ovipositional deterrent. These multiple modes of action make it a highly effective tool for use in a resistance management program. It has a 4-hour restricted entry interval, zero-day pre-harvest interval and is labeled for use on a broad range of turfgrass, outdoor shrubs, trees, ornamentals and food crops as well as on greenhouse ornamentals, in shadehouses, interiorscapes and nurseries. Molt-X leaves no residue on plant foliage and flowers; has no phytotoxicity issues on most plants; and is generally safe on beneficial insects and bees.
