About HRI President
Bob Couch assumed the HRI presidency on January 12, 2013. Couch joined the HRI Board of Trustees in 2008 and has served on the HRI Executive Committee since 2009.  Couch is a sales manager at The Dayton Bag & Burlap Company in Dayton, Ohio, a supplier to wholesale nursery growers.

"We succeed because our staff is committed to supplying the best in burlap and baskets to the industry," stated Couch. "Like everyone else our biggest challenge is thriving in this very competitive marketplace that we have been in for the last five years. I entered this industry by chance, working at Dayton Bag & Burlap part time on the weekends while I was in school, and 34 years later here I am. I love this industry because of the people in it, the most hard working and honest people I know. I am a member of the American Nursery & Landscape Association (ANLA) and HRI because I enjoy being a part of something that helps our industry's health, whether it is about research or government regulations."
When not working at Dayton Bag & Burlap, Couch volunteers his time back to the industry he loves. He served on the Board of Directors for the Ohio Nursery & Landscape Association, past president 2005, served as chairman of ANLA's Allied Associates Committee and has served on ANLA's Convention & Learning Retreat Committee from 1996 through 2005. He is the recipient of the ANLA Allied Associate Award in 2003.
Couch lives in Dayton with his wife, Ann, and their four daughters.
