Horticultural Research Institute Accepting Grant Proposals
The Horticultural Research Institute is seeking research proposals for projects that will produce new knowledge and lead to applied advice for the horticultural industry. Researchers are encouraged to submit proposals for research in the areas of horticultural marketing and consumer purchasing practices, pest and disease management and control, and sustainable production and environmental resource management.

2016 Farwest Show Opens Registration
Registration for the 2016 Farwest Show, the annual nursery and greenhouse trade show, is now open for attendees and exhibitors. The show will be held August 25 to 27 in Portland, Oregon. Early-bird discounts and reduced rates are offered on hotels, expo passes, tours and education. Student/teacher discounts are available for the expo and all seminars and this year’s Keynote Address will be free to all registrants.

Ortho Ditches Class Of Pesticides That May Harm Bees
Ortho, part of ScottsMiracle-Gro, has decided it will stop the use of a class of pesticides that may harm bees. Ortho and ScottsMiracle-Gro have announced a partnership with the Pollinator Stewardship Council.
