Star Roses and Plants Will Purchase Fall Creek’s BrazelBerries Program
Fall Creek Farm and Nursery and Star Roses and Plants have announced the planned purchase by Star Roses and Plants of Fall Creek’s BrazelBerries program. Star Roses and Plants will purchase the comprehensive BrazelBerries program including the brand, variety portfolio and will take over management of the grower network and all sales and distribution.

$300,000 Announced for AFE Research Funding
The American Floral Endowment (AFE) has approved more than $296,000 in floriculture/horticulture research project funding for the 2016-2017 fiscal year.

Oliver “Buzz” Babikow passes
Oliver “Buzz” Babikow, older brother of Emerald Coast Gowers’ founder David Babikow, passed away on April 28. Buzz applied greenhouse propagation techniques to perennials, simplifying and expanding what had been a niche market. His liners helped fuel the rapid growth of the perennial industry.

Nominations Open for 2016 Community Champion Award
Nominations are now being accepted for the America in Bloom John R. Holmes III Community Champion AwardThe award recipient, who must be from a community that has participated or is currently participating in the program, will have demonstrated a vision and selfless commitment to moving the community forward. Deadline is July 31.
