Privacy Policy


MRP Acquisitions LLC d/b/a Moose River Media ("MRM") has created this Privacy Policy ("Privacy Policy") to demonstrate its commitment to fully disclosing the information collection and use practices applicable to this Internet Web site (the "Web site").

By using or accessing the Web site, you signify your acceptance of the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Web site, products and/or services and exit the Web site immediately.

1. Types of Information and Method of Collection

General Information Collection

As you browse the Web site the Internet protocol (IP) address of your computer, "cookies" (described below) and other standard tracking data MRM uses to evaluate Web site traffic and usage patterns are collected. Such information is aggregated with tracking data from all Web site visitors. If you only browse this Web site, but do not order a subscription to an MRM publication you are not required to provide any personally identifiable information. For purposes of this Privacy Policy, the term "Personally Identifiable Information" refers to any information that identifies or can be used to identify, contact, or locate the person to whom such information pertains.
  • By Web Site Requirement. To order a subscription for a magazine on this Web site you may be required to provide the following Personally Identifiable Information: your name, the state of your birth, job title, company name, address, telephone number, facsimile number, active e-mail address, type of profession, and description of your job or business.

The Web site uses a feature of your browser to set "cookies" on your computer. Cookies are small packets of information sent by the Web site through your browser to your computer. MRM uses cookies to track user activities while on the Web site. Cookies can be deleted or modified through your browser Internet settings. MRM does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. Ordering subscriptions to MRM publications and Web site usage is intended for people who are professionally engaged in the businesses MRM serves. If MRM learns that it has Personally Identifiable Information on a child under the age of 13, MRM will delete that information from its systems. MRM encourages parents and guardians to monitor children's online usage. Parental control protections, such as computer hardware, software or filtering services, are commercially available to limit the access to material that is harmful to minors.

2. How Information Collected is Used by MRM

The information collected by and through the Web site is owned solely by MRM. The information collected by and through this Web site will by used by MRM, its divisions, subsidiaries, and affiliates, or other entities that are involved in the operation of this Web site as follows:

  • to evaluate products and services MRM or third parties could offer to you;

3. With Whom Information is Shared and How it is Used

We may share the information collected on this Web site with third parties for various purposes. While MRM will seek to require those third parties to follow appropriate privacy policies and security measures and will not authorize them to use your Personally Identifiable Information except for the express purpose for which it is provided, MRM does not bear responsibility for any actions or policies of third parties. Subscriptions: If you subscribe to an MRM publication, MRM shares your Personally Identifiable Information with a third party company for order fulfillment processing.

Sale or Rental of Your Personally Identifiable Information to Third Parties: We may sell, rent or transfer your Personally Identifiable Information, except your e-mail address, to third parties that may use your Personally Identifiable Information to send you advertisements or promotional material for their products or services. We may share your Personally Identifiable Information, except your e-mail address, with a third party "list management" company which searches for companies that want to purchase or rent your Personally Identifiable Information for advertising and promotional purposes. Web site Management: We share your Personally Identifiable Information with a third party company that manages and hosts the Web site for MRM. This company uses your Personally Identifiable Information to send e-mails, facsimiles, letters, advertisements, and promotional material to you on behalf of MRM or third parties. If you do not wish to receive advertising or promotional material, you may "opt-out" when you subscribe to receive an MRM publication or you may "opt-out" at any time afterwards by contacting MRM by telephone, facsimile, e-mail, or mail by using the contact information provided in Section 8, below.

Aggregate Information: We may share aggregate information, such as general demographics and Web Site usage statistics to third parties, such as third parties that advertise in MRM publications or on the Web site. This general demographic information may include information such as how many landscape construction professionals in the Northeast region have subscribed to an MRM publication. We do not share specific demographic information, such as subscribers' ages or addresses. When general demographic information is shared, we do not share the Personally Identifiable Information you provide on the Web site when you subscribe to an MRM publication.

MRM Subsidiaries and Affiliates: We may share your Personally Identifiable Information with employees, agents, parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates of MRM.

Business Transfers: The Web site, MRM and/or a subsidiary or division of MRM may be sold along with its assets, or other transactions may occur in which your Personally Identifiable Information is one of the business assets transferred. In such a case, your Personally Identifiable Information, which we have gathered, may be one of the business assets we transfer.

Legal Process: In the event we are required to respond to subpoenas, court orders or other legal process, your Personally Identifiable Information may be disclosed pursuant to such subpoena, court order or legal process, which may be without notice to you.

4. Security and Encryption

While there is no such thing as "perfect security" on the Internet, MRM takes commercially reasonable precautions to protect your Personally Identifiable Information. We use encryption technology on the Web site and a secure server to encrypt information transmitted between your browsers and our server. As a result, Personally Identifiable Information you submit to the MRM Web Site is transmitted using commercially reasonable security over the Internet.

MRM security policies are reviewed periodically and revised as required. The servers for the Web site that contain Personally Identifiable Information are stored in a physically secure and climate controlled off-site facility. We protect against data loss by backing-up data, performing, consistency checks and restricting access to information on our servers. It is important to remember that whatever you transmit or disclose online can be collected and used by others or unlawfully intercepted by third parties. No data transmission over the Internet can be 100% secure.

5. Third Party Links, Web Sites, and Cookies

Our Web site may contain external links to third party Web sites. We have no control over, and are not responsible for, the content of, or information gathered by these other Web sites. Any Personally Identifiable Information collected by such third parties is subject to such third parties' privacy policy. Companies that advertise on our Web site do not have access to your Personally Identifiable Information. MRM reserves the right, at any time and without notice, to add to, change, update or modify this Privacy Policy by posting such change, update or modification on the Web site. Any such change, update or modification will be effective immediately upon posting on the Web site. If at any point MRM decides to use Personally Identifiable Information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we may notify you by way of an e-mail or some other means. Your continued use of the Web site shall constitute your acceptance of such revised Privacy Policy. Since this Privacy Policy may change from time to time, you should review it periodically before you provide any additional Personally Identifiable Information anywhere on the Web site.

7. Corrections and Updates to Personal Profile

You have the option of reviewing, correcting, updating, modifying, and deleting your Personally Identifiable Information or canceling your subscription at any time by contacting MRM by telephone, facsimile, e-mail, or mail by using the contact information in Section 8, below.

To the extent that such information is stored in other databases, we cannot always ensure that such corrections or deletions will reach the other databases. We will use all reasonable efforts to ensure that your information is removed from or corrected in our records.
