Dutchman planters

With Dutchman’s Shade Tree Planter—and ideal conditions—you can plant up to 8,000 trees in a day. This machine has the ability to carry 1,200 whips or 400 branched trees on its side platforms; it also features interchangeable shoes that range from 14 inches to 24 inches. The shade tree planter is equipped with a single seat and walking platform on either side.

Dutchman’s Seedling Planter can carry up to 100 7-gallon pots, and comes equipped with a front pivoting bar that allows for a change in the depth of the plow shoe while keeping the backfilling and packing components the same as the machine moves over grades. Shoes range from 6 inches to 12 inches. Backfill blades and packing wheels can be adjusted to ensure that nursery stock will be planted securely, no matter what size plow shoe you employ. Cutting shears are replaceable.

Both machines can be equipped with an optional row marker, available for manual setup or a hydraulic setup with cylinder. The row marker helps to guide your planting efforts so that trees are planted a consistent and equal distance apart, row upon row. The marker can be adjusted to 6-foot, 8-foot, 10-foot and 12-foot spacings.

Deere’s compact utility tractor

The new 4R tractor from Deere boasts Hitch Assist, which enables fast and easy implement attachment. This function eliminates the need to go back and forth from the seat to the hitch. The operator can simply control the tractor and hitch while standing behind the machine.

The machine features a powerful, Final Tier 4 engine, ranging from 43 to 66 hp, to power through tough tasks. A power reverser transmission slows the transmission down when the operator uses the forward or reverse control function. No need to use the clutch to change direction. Four-wheel drive comes standard for tough applications and harsh ground conditions.

An optional downforce kit for 4R tractors is switch actuated and extremely useful for digging and tillage. Optional wheel spacers provide 11 inches of additional width and are ideal when the tractor is used on inclines or slopes.

All 4R models feature integrated hydrostatic transmission controls on a single panel. Operators can easily select eThrottle™ that matches engine RPM to hydrostat pedal position, LoadMatch™ to automatically adjusts engine-speed based on load, MotionMatch™ to adjust the responsiveness of the transmission, and SpeedMatch™ to enable automotive-style cruise control.

Egedal sowing machine

Egedal’s Combi Sowing Machine, available through Timm Enterprises, is designed to sow most tree seeds, including Quercus down to Betula as well as conifer seeds—either clean or stratified—and winged seeds. Sowing quantity (density) is easily adjusted with the wide ranging options of the gearbox, and the seed box design allows all seed to be distributed, without waste.

Individual sowing units are mounted on parallelograms and can adapt to uneven beds, ensuring a constant and correct sowing depth. The sowing shares are adjustable, and the individual units are equipped with packing wheels.

An optional attachment allows for broadcast seeding.

Four- or five-row configuration is standard, but the Combi can be made to customers’ specifications concerning row amount and row distance. Also available are an alternative sowing box for small, clean seeds.
