Registration Now Open for MANTS Show
The Mid-Atlantic Nursery Trade Show (MANTS) has announced that online registration is open. The show will take place January 11 to 13 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
CIPWG Symposium To Take Place October 11
The 8th biennial CIPWG Symposium features national, regional and local experts as well as citizen volunteers sharing practical solutions for invasive plant management and actions needed to promote native species and improve wildlife habitat. Research and management posters, an invasive plant identification area, and other educational exhibits will be featured throughout the day. The registration fee includes parking and lunch and Pesticide Recertification Credits and other continuing education credits (CEU’s) will be available. Registration fee is $50 postmarked by September 12 or online; $60 for regular postmarked after September 12 or online and $25 for students with a current ID.
Bayer Appoints Steve Larson to Ornamental Specialist
Bayer Environmental Science has announced the appointment of Steven Larson as an ornamental specialist. Larson will help build the Bayer brand with customers and distributors in the ornamentals market. Larson has been the plant health manager with Hines Nursery (now a property of Color Spot Nurseries) and The Brookwood Community, field technical manager for The Scotts Company, and served in sales and sales management positions with Whitmire Micro-Gen, The Scotts Company and BASF.
Project EverGreen, Exmark and Sports Turf Managers Association Join Together to Sponsor Contest
Project EverGreen, in partnership with Exmark Manufacturing, the Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) and The Foundation for Safer Athletic Fields for Everyone (SAFE), is sponsoring the “Our Winning Green Space” contest to give Parks & Recreation and Public Works departments a chance to win a Exmark Lazer Z X-Series mower package and a “Healthy Turf. Healthy Kids.” renovation project for their city. Municipalities can submit an essay and photos online declaring why their city deserves the new equipment and renovated playing field, and how it will assist them in maintaining a healthier, safer area for kids to play. Submissions can be made here from September 12 through November 1 and the winner will be announced in early December.
