Since 1953, the American Horticultural Society’s Great American Gardeners Awards program has recognized individuals and institutions that have made significant contributions to horticulture across America. Nominations for the 2016 awards are now being accepted until September 30, 2015.
Twelve separate Great American Gardeners Awards will be presented, including the prestigious Liberty Hyde Bailey Award for significant contributions to the horticultural fields of teaching, research, writing, plant exploration, administration, art, business, and leadership. Other awards will acknowledge outstanding achievements in garden communication, commercial horticulture, landscape design, floral design, urban beautification, and youth gardening.
The 2016 AHS Great American Gardeners Award winners will be announced in the March/April issue of The American Gardener magazine and honored during an awards ceremony in June 2016.
