Bayer Appoints Mark Schneid to Head of Environmental Science North America
Environmental Science announced that Mark Schneid, former Chief Marketing Officer of the Environmental Science business unit, has been appointed Head of Environmental Science North America. In this new role, Schneid will be responsible for leading the business unit in the United States and Canada with a vision focused squarely on the needs of customers in the markets it serves, including: Turf & Ornamentals, Vegetation Management, Professional Pest Management and Vector Control.
Arborjet Welcomes Kevin Brewer to the Team as New England Territory Technical Manager
Arborjet Inc. announced that Kevin Brewer has joined the company as New England Territory Technical Manager. In this role, Brewer will be responsible for identifying and securing new business in the New England territory and maintaining existing accounts with distributors, municipalities, landscape companies, arborists and universities.
TreeTown USA to Acquire Village Nurseries
TreeTown USA has announced a definitive purchase agreement to acquire Village Nurseries, a specialty grower for landscape professionals, re-wholesalers and retailers, for an undisclosed amount. The deal represents one of the largest strategic nursery acquisitions in recent history and creates a nursery with a true coast-to-coast footprint. Closing is expected by the end of September, 2017. The strategic acquisition of Village Nurseries supports TreeTown USA’s continued growth plans and accelerates entry into new and adjacent markets. With the addition of its new west coast division, which will continue to operate under its trade name of Village Nurseries, TreeTown USA’s operations will encompass 16 farm locations throughout California, Texas and Florida, consisting of over 4,000 acres in production. In addition to the company’s focus on employees and market expansion, the synergistic effect of this deal solidifies TreeTown USA as a market leader in the horticultural industry.

On September 23, it was announced that Easy Elegance® Screaming Neon Red™ received 4 of the 7 awards given at the 2017 Biltmore International Rose Trials In Asheville, North Carolina. This variety, introduced to the consumer marketplace in 2015, received the following honors:
